Yegyu Shim [Ye-gyū: g pronounced as in girl]

Hello!
I am a twenty-something years old Certified Somm, celebrating my life in the best city in the world, New York. I was born and raised in Korea, and my family and I moved to Los Angeles when I was in middle school. I studied Viticulture & Enology at Cornell University, and I hold the WSET level 3. I am an avid eater and a professional wine drinker/spitter.
I started shronster a few years ago when I left the food & beverage industry. I had a serious case of fomo, so I needed an outlet to stay in touch with the industry. Ever since then, my free time after work has been consumed by all kinds of food and wine activities.
What I enjoy the most is when I visit wineries all over the world. Not only I get to visit wine regions I learned from the wine classes, but I also get to talk to the winemakers. I love talking to the winemakers, especially about the challenges they face with climate change, because they simply are the coolest people in the world – they are scientists and artists.
Wine has amazing stories to tell, and these stories must be shared with everyone. After all, it is not a party without a bottle (or two) of wine!🥂
